Praised for her “lovely mezzo voice” (Berkshire Fine Arts) and “dramatically incisive” stage presence (Parterre Box), Canadian-American Ilanna Starr joins the Atelier lyrique at the Opéra de Montréal in the 2023-24 season. In January, she was named a district winner at the 2024 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.

Ms. Starr's 23/24 season includes her mainstage debut with Opéra de Montréal as Flora in La Traviata in addition to several other role premieres and performances as a member of Opéra de Montréal's Atelier lyrique including Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Mercedes in Carmen, and Nerone in L'incoronazione di Poppea.
